Saturday Thoughts
Saturday morning is usually spent trying to find enough things to entertain a 20month old till nap time. For now he is content with his Chick-fil-a cow and digging through my file folder. So I thought I would give some insights to what is going on in my life…quickly before he comes back to fidget with the mouse.
- Unleash was freakn’ awesome! Perry Noble cracks me up with his blountness…refreshing and much needed!
- The bus ride was a hoot! Jennifer thought it felt like riding on the front of a roller coaster because we were in the front seat…all that was between us and road was a huge window!
- Loved driving the bus nuts with the intercom….me love power.
- The time at the end we got to pray over our pastor was worth the entire trip!
- Half the bus ate Chipotle on the way home…not a good idea.
- Next year I want to take 100!
- I have a list 2 pages long on my cabinet in my office of books I want to read this year. Yeah, you could call it over-ambitious.
- Bathroom is almost done, just trim work and 1 more light to go up. Finally!
- Bathroom is almost done, so P90x is back on the table.
- Accidentally ripped out the wrong bathroom fan last night. Things are confusing in an attic!
- My ma-n-law and sis-n-law just left this morning. A big thanks to them for coming up and watching Wyatt!
- Wyatt has bouroughed himself underneath the stairs…guess I need to get him shortly.
- How do you spell bouroughed? Because that ain’t right.
- Can’t wait for tomorrow!
- I’m so pumped about what God is doing and what he’s getting ready to do!
- I think Wyatt is eating a wreath.
- Pray for our pregnancy. Jennifer has Previa, which is not good. Baby is fine though. Just pray it moves. Google it if you don’t have any idea of what I’m talking about.
- Need…i….phone.
- To sell my ipod or not? My ma-n-law said she’d buy it, but 8Gigs on an iphone doesn’t seem like a lot of space.
- I think Wyatt has done a number in his britches. Time to go!
- Nasty!
Revenge of the Ants
My home is being invaded by sugar ants – those small, tiny ants that are drawn to all things sugar. Tomorrow the pest inspector will ride in on his white van and nuke those little punks to the next life.
But they know something is amiss. They feel their days are numbered. There are rumors in the air of a prophecy in the ant kingdom. A doomsday prophecy that one new giant creatures will arrive in ‘their’ home, take up residence, and after a flurry of activity, a rivers of poison will begin to flow – and life as sugar ants will end.
Yes they know this because I walked into my office today and they have called ahead to their sugar an cousins in the far world of Fredericksburg. There are stupid little sugar ants here too!
Little do they know that the man in the white van travels to this world as well. And with him he brings more cans of poison and gas.
This is war little ant. And I will win.
–Just killed another.
SBC
I really don't know what to say about the convention. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I was privileged to travel with my pastor to Indianapolis to the Southern Baptist Convention. He was invited to speak at a church planting round table.
Anyway, I felt like I was in a time warp. Most everybody was elderly, or fashion deficient, or trying way too hard to be fashion profecient. Everybody wants to wear their lanyards EVERYWHERE. Felt like the scene from Waynes World. There was an annoying booth telling me to witness to Indianapolis by handing out tracks. Then they would lovingly shove them in my face and wait for me to decline meaning I must hate lost people. Or maybe it's that I feel tracks are a cheap way to witness, aside from actually TALKING TO PEOPLE! Good grief, don't get me started. And I wasn't really quite sure what was happening. Fish out of water my friend.
But for all their idiosyncrasies, the SBC is the most powerful missions organization in the world. They may be slow to come around on current trends, but for the most part, they want to see the kingdom built.
….except for the annoying come-over crew that wants to argue parliamentary procedures, boycott Disney, and deem the KJV as the official version of the SBC….you should hear these guys get all riled up over stupid stuff!.
New TV Show
Jennifer has a great idea for a new TV show…."UNDOING TRADING SPACES". It can be a whole show on repairing peoples bad design choices inspired by the show. We’re paying for someones ill-advised painting option in our bedroom. They must have mixed sand or something in the paint…then added glitter. It’s horrible!
My arms hurt from sanding!!
Hair
Now that I’ve been growing my hair out a few things have come to me that I find odd.
Short hair people want long hair.
Long hair people want short hair.
Curly hair people want it straight.
Straight hair people want it curly.
Bald people want hair.
Hairy people shave their head.
Blonds want to be reds.
Reds want to be blonds.
We spend millions on perms, straighteners, curling irons, hair dryers, flat-irons, gel, anti-frizz cream, curl-defining mouse, conditioner, shampoo, revitalizing masks, hair dye; we pick it, frizz it, style it, chop it, curl it, grease it, spike it, comb it, brush it, mess it up, dye it, bleach it, then realize we like it better the other way. The grass always seems to be greener on the other side.
Or the hair always seems to be blonder on the other head.
